Yesteryear Collection

When one thinks of the armed forcesin action, one naturally thinks of battle series. Whether the fierce conflicts of the World Wars or the devastating action of modern warfare, it is the military in battle that first comes to mind when we think of military action. Yet, the armed forces have several essential departments that perform integral roles in maintaining the safety of the unit and, in turn, the defense of the nation. One such unit is the fire brigade. In a world of firepower - whether in live action or basic training - there is always a chance of a blaze starting up. Heavy equipment, gasoline, modern weapons, and the arsenal of an enemy combine to create a daily fire hazard and one that must be vigantly defended against.

In 1941, Chevrolet introduced a new line of trucks with some notable changes. Front grilles were redesigned on all models while smaller trucks received a longer wheelbase. The trucks were powered by an inline, 216.5-cid, six-cylinder engine with overhead valves. The '41 Chevy truck was equipped with a three-speed synchromesh transmission with a floor shift; and it could attain a power rating of 90 horsepower at 3300 rpm. The Chevy trucks were available in a range of six models, many available as panel trucks, pickups or stake trucks.

Now , a 1941 Chevrolet truck is fitted out by the army for fire fighting detail. This die-cast replica is officially authorized by the Fire Brigade Society. Precision-engineered, marked with authentic army graphics and filled with a wealth of hoses, pipes and other fire fighting equipment, your 1941 Chevrolet Army Fire Truck is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
